Genesis Soda Maker

The Genesis Home Soda Maker Kit is one of many models that allows you to make your own sparkling water, soda, energy drinks, and bubbly fruit drinks right in your own home in just 30 seconds.

In this kit you get everything you need to start making your own fizzy drinks. You get the streamed lined soda maker machine, 2 BPA free carbonating reusable bottles, Co2 carbonator cartridge good for 60 1 litter bottles, and a variety sample pack of the flavored syrup.

The machine itself is sleek and fits conveniently on your counter top, its dimensions are 14.4 x 8 x 11.8 inches and weighs only 8.2 pounds so it is lightweight and slim so it will not take up a lot of needed space on your counter. It is also great for tight spaces like at the office, or even campers.

Although there are some slightly different opinions about the at home soda makers and exactly how much you can save making your own sodas and sparkling water verses buying them from the store, most peoples opinion is that it is well worth it to buy this machine if even for just the money you save in making sparkling water.

There are some differing opinions about how good the soda flavoring taste as well. Most say that unless you like the taste of Splenda, you will not like the flavors of the different regular soda, but they also say that the diet tastes good and that the energy flavor tastes almost the same as Red Bull. They do have real cane sugar flavorings that most say taste like the real thing. You can also make your own syrups at home instead.

There are some drawbacks to using the at home soda makers, like you have to keep replacing the Co2 cartridges. Depending on how much fizz you want in your drink, the cartridges will only last for about 60 1 liters before you will have to replace it. You can find places that will exchange them and will cost you around $15.00. Most say to go ahead and get a second Co2 canister so when you take the one in for exchange, you still have one to use, but a new one will run between $25.00 and $30.00.

You will also need to replace the reusable bottles after a certain time period since they are under pressure and can become unsafe if used past their expiration date. Most need to be replaced after 2 years.

The second drawback is that unless you are using it for strictly sparkling water, you will need to keep buying the different syrups. But on the other hand, these will run you around $5.99 to $10.00 for the larger bottles. Or you can save yourself the cost of the syrups by making your own. Most people say that the Sodastream Genesis is well worth it just for the energy drinks and how much you save making those at home instead of the 3 or 4 dollars apiece they cost at the store.
